Mark Joseph Sullivan's photography ranges over many
areas, as does his background, but one thing he does remain, is a visual
communicator. Whether he is responding or reacting to the environment or
constructing it, his training in art, understanding of the history of
photography and technical background show thru.
His images range from complex to simple and graphic with wit and humor, ambiguousness with hints of darker things, formal issues to elegant recordings of people and places. He strives to produce images that speak. Speak to the viewer and to that part of himself that looks out at this world.
